Built Environs began in 1987 as three men with a vision of creating a construction company with a difference: to build safely, with innovation and flair, above and beyond the best industry practice, and with an unwavering commitment to client satisfaction.
Their methods were simple. They employed and developed the best people, treated subcontractors and suppliers as close members of their team, and developed strong bonds with the best consultants − methods that are still used today.
At the end of 2005, Built Environs re-structured to better meet the increasing demands of the market, creating an independent board with a focus on governance and compliance that introduced a highly efficient business systems approach.
In mid-2008, major domestic and international engineering and construction firm McConnell Dowell acquired a major interest in the company, adding further financial certainty and access to scalable resources and expertise.
Built Environs continues to grow, employing over 300 people across Australia on a range of major building, defence, marine, mining and resource, road construction and windfarm projects.
