Civil engineering

Through applied ingenuity, experience and teamwork, the Built Environs Civil Division has completed a broad spectrum of complex civil engineering projects on time and on budget.

We have safely delivered high risk marine works including barrages, bridges, lock structures and wharfs, and are particularly experienced with highly technical structural foundations, including wind turbine tower footings.

Other areas of expertise include embankment retention, major roadworks, waste disposal, water retention and more.

Examples of our work include:

  • The Adelaide Desalination Project Transfer Pipeline - a c.$100 million water pipeline being constructed as part of the MBDE joint venture.
  • The Techport Australia Common User Facility (CUF) - a c.$200 million ship-building and maintenance facility being constructed under an early contractor involvement (ECI) contract as a joint venture partner in MDBE.
  • The Hindmarsh Island Bridge - a 300 m curved superstructure bridge built using the incremental launch method.
  • The Port Adelaide Grain Berth - a wharf, revetment and berthing facilities for Cape-sized bulk carriers.
  • Snowtown Windfarm - award-winning windtower footings and associated civil works.
  • Stage two of the Southern Expressway - major roadworks including four bridges, with $3M in cost savings identified for the client.

We tightly manage all of our projects, self-performing much of our work. Our experienced work teams are mobile and frequently work in remote locations. They are highly trained and hold an unwavering commitment to the company and the client.
