Built Environs is delivering over $150 miilion worth of building works for the new Adelaide Desalination Plant at Port Stanvac, 25 km south of Adelaide, South Australia.
As a member of the AdelaideAqua Building Alliance, Built Environs has played a key part in the planning and delivery of the building works, working closely with the AdelaideAqua design and construction teams.
As part of the alliance, Built Environs has been constructing the main process buildings, containing the reverse osmosis (RO) and filtration equipment, along with a further 14 buildings to cater for pump stations, chemical plant and administration facilities, as well as the main Visitors’ Centre.
High performance concrete, steel coatings and roofing systems are being used throughout to cope with the challenging marine and chemical environment.
Construction commenced in April 2009, and the plant is scheduled to be at its full 100 GL capacity by late-2012.
