Adelaide Desalination Project Building Works
Adelaide Desalination Project Building Works

Built Environs is delivering over $100M worth of building works for the new Adelaide Desalination Plant at Port Stanvac, 25km south of Adelaide, South Australia.

As a member of the AdelaideAqua Building Alliance, Built Environs has played a key part in the planning and delivery of the building works, working closely with the AdelaideAqua design and construction teams.

As part of the alliance, Built Environs will be constructing the main process building, containing the reverse osmosis (RO) and filtration equipment, along with a further 12 buildings to cater for pump stations, chemical plant and administration facilities, as well as the main Visitors’ Centre.

High performance concrete, steel coatings and roofing systems are being used throughout to cope with the challenging marine and chemical environment.

Construction commenced in April 2009, with ‘first water’ delivered in December 2010. The plant will be at the full 100GL capacity by late 2012.
