In December 2008 Built Environs completed the $37 million Goyder Pavilion at the Adelaide Showground on Goodwood Road, Wayville, SA.
The project involved the construction of a massive new entertainment and events facility – including hospitality, retail and plaza areas – along with supporting infrastructure and civil works.
Over 40 major events were held at the Adelaide Showground during the course of construction, requiring significant planning and liaison between the project team, client and event organisers. As well as public access on the days of the actual events, there was a considerable logistical effort to ensure the events could be loaded-in and loaded-out safely.
The project was a landmark in environmental design, featuring two 3.5 million litre underground stormwater storage tanks fed from the Goyder Pavilion’s roof.
A close working relationship with the client and an excellent onsite culture ensured the project proceeded on schedule and to the highest possible quality standards, delivering an extremely versatile entertainment and events venue.
Built Environs subsequently worked with Solar Shop Australia in installing Australia’s largest rooftop solar panel system across the Goyder Pavilion and five other buildings at the Showground.
