In May 2006, Built Environs completed the $46.5M Joe White Malting Plant project in Forrestfield, Perth, Western Australia.

As construction manager, Built Environs was responsible for all of the structural construction, process piping, installation and commissioning of the specialised malting equipment, along with overall project site management and safety.

As a key member of the design team, we added value to the project by modifying aspects of the design to reduce construction costs and time and improve safety.

The 120,000 t capacity plant required a range of mechanical engineering works, including aeration blowers, glass tube heat exchangers, pumps, process piping and general services, including automatic high pressure water washing systems.

The project was completed on time with no Lost Time Injuries and maintained Built Environs’ reputation as Australia’s leading malting plant constructor.
