Notre Dame Catholic Primary School, WA

In March 2011, Built Environs completed the 12-month construction of a nine-block primary school in Cloverdale, WA.

Completed five months ahead of schedule, the project delivered a new administration building, two pre-primary classrooms, three two-storey blocks of 12 classrooms, a library, multi-purpose hall, and relocation and refurbishment of the covered assembly area, grounds and sports stores.

The project team managed demolition, decommissioning of the original school, establishment of temporary school facilities, landscaping, carparking facilities, and installation of play equipment. The work was carefully planned and staged around the ongoing primary school daily operations.

Built Environs also helped with the staged decanting and relocation of the various areas across the school, providing lockable containers for temporary storage, and labour to help relocate school furniture and fixtures on practical completion.

Working within an operational school, Built Environs shared constantly updated two- and four-week look ahead programmes, so that everyone could safely plan their activities around the construction.

The project team worked collaboratively with the school staff, consultants and subconsultants, consistently demonstrating the flexibility to stop works to suit client and architect redesign requests and meet the operational requirements of the school.
