Built Environs aims to lead the construction industry in environmental management. We do this because we want to provide future generations with the opportunity to enjoy the world in which we live.
Drawing on representatives from across the company, the Built Environs Environmental and Sustainability Committee champions environmental and sustainability best practice and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the Built Environs Environmental and Sustainability Policy.
Further evidence of our commitment is provided by our third party accreditation to AS/NZS ISO 14001: 2004, the international standard for Environmental Management Systems. This sets the benchmark for assessing and managing risks, implementing control measures, auditing, training and reporting.
At the project level, environmental management is integrated within our Project Management Plans.
We work with our clients, their stakeholders and the relevant authorities to assess, mitigate and document the environmental risks of every project. Once work begins, we induct staff and subcontractors in the risks, control measures and reporting requirements that are specific to the site and we manage the environmental outcomes.
