At Built Environs, we take the ongoing health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, subcontractors, clients, consultants, visitors and of the general public very seriously, with a proactive commitment to zero harm.
With AS/NZS 4801: 2001 accreditation for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems we have built a system that has earned us full accreditation with the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner.
Our successful “Mate Watch” campaign is an in-house initiative which encourages all personnel to contribute to a safe working environment by constantly looking out for the safety of their “mates”, fostering a spirit of community on our sites.
Further, our safety mascot, Safety Blue the blue heeler, encourages everyone to be an ambassador for safety, proving especially useful in drawing the connection between injuries at work and the impact on life at home.
We have also developed our own “Sun Smart” on-site dress code to minimise the effects of the sun.
Finally, Built Environs runs regular training programs to encourage employees to go above and beyond the call of duty with regard to safety matters and procedures. This ensures all employees understand the importance of their commitment and awareness, and that their dedication is recognised and valued.
