The Built Environs Board has appointed Scott Penhall as Managing Director of Built Environs, effective 21 November 2011.

Scott replaces Jim Frith, who has accepted a senior management role as Manager – Industrial at parent company McConnell Dowell in Melbourne.

Scott joined Built Environs in March 2003 and has held a series of senior management roles that have drawn on his many years of experience in the building construction industry both in Australia and overseas.

He began his career as an apprentice electrician, completing his apprenticeship and graduating from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Building Studies. Prior to joining Built Environs in Adelaide, Scott had worked in Malaysia, Brisbane, Darwin and Melbourne.

“With significant work underway in Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, this is an exciting time to be leading the company,” Scott Penhall says.

“I thank Jim Frith for his two and a half years of hard work in establishing Built Environs as a builder with national capability and I look forward to continuing to work with Jim in his new role as Manager – Industrial for McConnell Dowell.”
