National commercial, industrial and institutional building company Built Environs has received recognition for the quality of its people with two WA chapter Australian Institute of Building (AIB) Awards for its work on the Wesley College transition building and for long-term service to the building industry.

The awards recognise excellence in the building and construction process and the contribution that people make to the outcome.

Site Manager Michael Cameron and the team who worked on the new WesleyCollege transition building in South Perth picked up a Professional Excellence Award in the category of Commercial Construction $1 million to $10 million.

WA Manager Adrian Ridderhof’s outstanding contribution to the West Australian building industry was recognised with a Life Service Certificate celebrating more than 30 years’ service to the construction industry.

Built Environs Managing Director Jim Frith said the awards underline the important contribution that people make to the quality outcome of a construction project.

“Michael and the Wesley College team really showcased our ability to safely fast-track a high quality construction project within an operational school environment,” said Frith.

“Combine this operational expertise with people like Adrian, who has over three decades of management experience in the construction industry, and you’ve got a team that’s ready to take on just about any construction challenge.”

Michael and the Wesley College team are now contenders for a national AIB award in their category in September.
