New and upgraded facilities to provide vibrant intellectual environments

Built Environs provided project planning, design and construction services to the University of Adelaide for four years, under a Managing Contractor contract, for the award-winning Capital Management Plan (CMP) Building Works.

This comprised 74 projects of varying size, value and complexity, including refurbishments, upgrades and new works to teaching spaces, computer suites, laboratories, research facilities and office fit-outs across three operational University of Adelaide campuses. The Built Environs project team managed up to 20 subprojects at any one time, all the while ensuring safety was paramount in an environment used by over 25,000 students and 3,000 staff. The team further had to manage delicate staging, and programming works to meet strict semester start dates, in addition to communicating with a multitude of stakeholders.

All projects were ultimately completed on time, within budget, and to a high-quality finish, helping the University of Adelaide to meet its vision of providing a vibrant intellectual environment satisfying for staff, rewarding for students and engaging of the community.
