Transforming a new era of healthcare for South Australia's south-eastern region

Built Environs delivered significant redevelopment work at the Mount Gambier Hospital, one of South Australia's major regional medical facilities. The project provides increased acute care capacity including expanded mental health, palliative care, rehabilitation and general medical services.

With over 4,000 m2 of new-build and refurbished areas, the team at Built Environs had to plan carefully to manage the works across multiple stages, while ensuring minimal disruption to the hospital's 24-hour operations.

Despite the regional location presenting challenges, Built Environs successfully implemented a permit system which enabled them to complete the works without any unexpected shutdowns of essential services - all areas constructed achieved a five star IGRAT rating.

Fast Facts:

  • 4,000 m2 floor area
  • 22-bed inpatient ward and office and administration areas totaling 2,000 m2
