Myer Centre Adelaide Upgrade, SA
Duration: March 2013 to May 2014
Value: $9 million
Contract type: AS 4300 Lump Sum Design and Construct
Summary: Built Environs upgraded the Myer Centre Adelaide, a prominent multi-storey retail building in the centre of Adelaide’s CBD.
In the heart of Rundle Mall, the project included the upgrade of the ground and first floor façades, new awnings and entry statements and multi-level upgrades to balustrading, tiling and decor, escalator fall arrests and elevators.
The centre remained operational throughout the upgrade, with the Built Environs project team completing construction works day and night to prevent disruption to retail operations.
Practical completion of the first stage of works was achieved in November, ahead of the busy Christmas shopping period.
Built Environs’s upgrade of this retail institution has contributed to the rejuvenation of Adelaide’s Rundle Mall.
