An expansion that has tripled the centre's retail floor space

The Shops at Ellenbrook project was an 8-hectare expansion of the Ellenbrook Shopping Centre that achieved a four-star Green Star rating for its environmentally sustainable design and construction, focusing on areas such as indoor environmental quality, water, energy, emissions, and innovation.

Built Environs added 19,000 m2 of lettable area (24,000 m2 of gross floor area) to the existing 10,000 m2 shopping centre, including a Big W store, a Coles supermarket, and numerous specialty stores. The project entailed cutting into the existing shopping centre structure, setting up a protective perimeter, building temporary works (including public protection), providing weatherproofing, and maintaining services so that the shopping centre could remain fully operational during construction.

Additionally, the team was responsible for the full interior fit-out of Big W and Coles in accordance with the tenants’ requirements, and the construction of amenities, central plant, mall furniture, signage, and a 49,000 m2 car park.
