Transforming housing, health and social facilities

The Auckland City Mission (ACM) is a charitable organisation providing health and social support facilities for those most in need. The HomeGround Development is ACM’s most ambitious project in its 100+ history.

The new nine storey multi-purpose facility provides 80 apartments, a healthcare centre, state of the art detox services, educational and training facilities, meals and other support networks including community spaces for social enterprise opportunities. In addition, Built Environs was responsible for the demolition of three existing buildings, as well as the refurbishment of the heritage-listed Prince of Wales building.

The HomeGround Development was undertaken using a collaborative contract model, which encouraged a ‘one team’ approach to innovation and cost-efficiency. Built Environs worked closely with ACM, consultants, key stakeholders, Mana Whenua (people of the land), the local community, and our supply lines.
