Masters Hardware Store Forrestdale, WA
Duration: June 2011 to February 2012
Value: $14 million
Contract type: Lump Sum
Summary: Built Environs completed the design and construction of a hardware and whitegoods store in the Perth suburb of Forrestdale for Masters Home Improvement.
Development of the 13,500 m2 warehouse included a trade area, garden shop, office and amenities, an expansive car park and external landscaping.
Among the project challenges was the pouring and finishing of 4,500 m2 of concrete slabs to such a high quality that only a few specialist suppliers and layers were capable of completing the work.
The construction effort included a Kingspan-clad internal walling system for increased energy efficiency, and certified fire control systems to ensure early detection and foam suppression.
Built Environs completed the Forrestdale warehouse while constructing another store for the hardware chain in the Perth suburb of Bibra Lake.
